Education Minister: 2017 TFF Fees Paid

In a parliamentary sitting today, Usino Bundi MP, Anthon Yagama questioned the imposing of TFF fees by some schools.

Education Minister, Nick Kuman, said the National Government has paid the entire TFF component for the 2017 academic year, including the outstanding 2016 TFF component.

He made this statement while responding to Usino Bundi MP, Anthon Yagama, who questioned why some schools in the country are still imposing TFF fees.

Kuman said the Government has paid all the outstanding 2016 and 2017 TFF fees for all the schools in the country. He said there’s no reason as to why schools are charging students TFF fees.

“As far as the government is concerned the TFF is a budgeted program and a total of K75 million has already been remitted to schools,” Kuman added.

He cautioned that it is unlawful under the Education policy to impose TFF fees, and any teachers imposing TFF fees will be held liable for their actions.
