Hela Governor Stabilised

In an interview with EMTV, PIH’s Dr Paul Mondia this morning, he said Governor Agiru was admitted to PIH for kidney failure since last Thursday.

Doctor Mondia said Mr Agiru’s condition was stabilised and he is currently being monitored at the Pacific International Hospital at Four Mile in Port Moresby.

There were rumours on Social Media that Hela Governor Anderson Agiru was dead.

Dr Mondia dispelled those rumours, and confirmed that Governor Agiru was alive, and being monitored.

Dr Mondia said since the weekend, the Governor was being treated at the Pacific International Hospital for serious kidney problems.

Dr Mondia also stated that Governor Agiru also suffered from diabetes and even though he was on treatment, he neglected his health due to his electorate work load.

Dr Mondia said even though his condition has been stabilised, he is currently being monitored at the Pacific International Hospital at Four Mile in Port Moresby.

Dr Mondia also used the opportunity to encourage Papua New Guineans to go for regular medical checks, given the fact that many lifestyle diseases like heart problems, diabetes and kidney problems, which are now becoming leading causes of deaths in the country.
