Gunemba Back and Happy

PNG Striker, Raymond Gunemba, is happy to be back in Papua New Guinea and training with fellow international team-mates.

Gunemba arrived on Tuesday afternoon, from New Zealand, where he has currently embarked on his professional career.

He joins the rest of the national team, in a week long training camp, ahead of friendlies in November during the FIFA international match window.

The 31 year old, who top scored during the OFC Nations Cup in June, expressed delight at being among his squad mates, ready and eager to embark on a new chapter for the country.

National Coach, Flemming Serritslev, has used the week long camp to introduce new players into the overall squad, one of whom is Raymond’s sibling, Troy, showing overall delight at his younger brother being alongside him.

Currently playing with New Zealand championship side, Eastern Suburbs, Gunemba compared the differences in styles of play between his current hosts and PNG.

Gunemba says the support during the OFC Nations cup was an unbelievable experience.

The national team will be hoping for friendly matches in November, prior to their world cup qualifying campaign in 2017.
