Grade 12 Student Expelled

A grade 12 student from De La Salle Secondary was expelled after alleged assaulting a junior student.

The alleged incident occurred after school last Thursday, as the students were heading home.

Following this, the Disciplinary Committee expelled the student after a meeting with his parents.

School Principal, James Ume, confirmed the incident and said De La Salle will continue to take tough disciplinary actions, against students, who break school rules.

“We believed the student was under the influence of alcohol when he bullied the other student. And because it was an expulsion offence, the Disciplinary Committee had no option but to expel the student,” Ume said.

Mr. Ume said the school is taking such actions because it does not tolerant ill-disciplined students.

“We made it clear that the student is only expelled from De La Salle and not from the PNG Education system,” Mr Ume said.
