The 2015 Pacific Games will witness a spectacular event which is just hours away. The event is said to be decorated with colours representing the country’s 22 different provinces.
EM TV News caught up with the organiser of the Goroka Cultural group on their preparations for the opening ceremony and their thoughts on the event.
The Goroka people are in Port Moresby, from the Eastern Highlands province, rehearsing and preparing for one of the biggest events that will be happening in just a few minutes.
The group will take part with the other 21 cultural groups from the different provinces, during the Opening Ceremony.
Twenty-two cultural groups will be performing under the watchful eyes of their fellow citizens, and around the Pacific as well.
Danny Sinako, organiser for the Goroka Cultural Group, described his participation in the Opening Ceremony, as an event that will always be part of them.
It is groups like this that will make our country proud and visitors impressed, showing the many different colours and traditions that Papua New Guinea is known for.
