While Chromecast users have already been able to stream music though their televisions, Google has unveiled its new audio version of their Chromecast device for a smarter speaker for music listeners globally.
The development of the device targets unreliable speakers to improve their performance for music listeners.
Chromecast audio is a small disc shaped device that works and connects using home Wi-Fi network. Once connected, the device can be plugged in to the available speakers to play the music playlist while you listen.
The device gives the opportunity for listeners to cast their audio from available phone apps and play via the music apps on the phone. The device also supports AUX, RCA, and other optical digital inputs, to make it compatible for the vast array of speakers that are available at home.
Micah Collins, Senior Product Manager for Chromecast, said “What Chromecast Audio will enable them to do is to make their existing speaker smart” especially those music listeners who are serious and are anxious to change their unreliable speaker systems”.
Audio playing through Chrome on the computer can also be casted. Major streaming apps have also supported the new device.
