The Global Construction has made a donation of K25,000 towards the Miss Pacific Islands Pageant PNG’s Scholarship Fund.

At the cheque presentation today (04 September 2018) , MPIP PNG Chair-lady, Mrs. Molly O’Rourke thanked Global Construction for their timely support towards the pageant’s Scholarship Fund.

Mrs O’Rourke acknowledge the generosity of the Management of Global Construction for their financial sponsorship.

“On behalf of MPIP PNG, Patron Ms Lynda Babao O’Neill, and the MPIP Committee, I wish to take this opportunity to acknowledge the generosity  of the Board of Directors and Management of Global Construction for your financial sponsorship  of K25, 000 towards MPIP PNG’s Scholarship Fund,” says O’Rourke.

She added that the partnership would contribute to the gift of Education to some young women who might not able to complete their tertiary education next year.

“We are very humbled and privileged to receive such sponsorship from an organisation that believes in the core fundamentals of MPIP PNG which is the scholarship fund,” adds O’Rourke.

Global Construction’s Secretary Nelson Yano congratulated MPIP PNG for their outstanding work in promoting women empowerment in PNG and says their contribution may be small but will certainly support MPIP PNG in their endeavors.

Also present was Patron Lynda Babao-O’Neill who extended MPIP PNG’s gratitude towards Global Construction for their kind donation.

She says the company has not only given the opportunity to young women to have a voice but have also provided a better future by giving them the opportunity to complete their tertiary education.

“Far too many women in PNG fall short in completing their tertiary education, this can be because of numerous reasons, such as not having the finances, family dilemmas that get in the way and quite often falling pregnant.

“MPIP PNG believes no one should be left behind and not fulfill their full potential,” stress Ms Babao O’Neill.

She outlined the importance of having sponsors and says without such sponsorship, MPIP PNG will not do what it does and play an active role in our country.

The sponsorship has now made Global Construction as a Silver Sponsor of the Miss Pacific Islands Pageant PNG.
