Hohola Police Station Refurbishment Timely

By Adelaide Sirox Kari – EMTV News, Port Moresby

The Hohola Police Station has been completely refurbished and upgraded with all white goods provided, courtesy of the Star Mountain Plaza Limited (SMPL); developer of the world class Star Mountain Plaza in Hohola.

The official handover of the police station took place last week Thursday (May 17)

The Hohola Police station refurbishment is timely as Star Mountain hotel located in Hohola prepares to house international delegates for APEC.

NCD Metropolitan Superintendent Perou N’Dranou said more such partnerships are needed in the police force.

The refurbishment is part of a community partnering program run by The RPNGC to allow Business houses, and communities to be a part of peace keeping and assisting the police station in their suburbs.

Police Minister Jelta Wong says police should have this in mind and not abuse the power they hold.

NCDC Governor Powes Parkop said while it was one step more to keeping the city safe, much more needs to be done.

SMPL allocated K500, 000.00 for the complete makeover which included; maintenance to both interior and exterior of the building. The company also delivered three printers; two laptops, twenty-five lockers, desks and chairs.

Before its refurbishment, Hohola Police Station was in dire need of maintenance as do most police stations in the Port Moresby.
