The replaced minister for Petroleum and Energy, William Duma, is furious over today’s front-page report of a daily newspaper, quoting an insider from his United Resource Party, speaking on his behalf.
The party leader is grilling party executives over this story.
It is understood that what was relayed in the paper, were not his views.
The former minister for Petroleum and Energy who is already in the country, is tight-lipped about his replacement.
However, in a statement this afternoon, URP said it has accepted the Prime Minister’s decision, and is in support of the government.
The party pledged to remain partners in the current coalition government despite the replacement of its parliamentary leader.
Since the cabinet reshuffle on Monday, there has been much speculation as to the reasons for the changes.
Prime Minister Peter O’Neill explained that the changes were based on performance, but there has not been much word from the minister’s who were replaced.Duma
