A dead body of a 16-year old boy from Raicoast in Madang was found floating on the sea by residents at Vocopoint, Hilmer Wong Park in Lae yesterday (05 December, 2018).
According to a family friend, the young man went for a swim with friends when he disappeared.
One of the Park’s resident said the deceased body was floating in the sea and was sighted by children who were swimming in the area.
The deceased was identified by his family, friends, and relatives, who said have been looking for him since he went missing on Sunday (02 December, 2018).
The body was later wrapped up and taken to Angau General Hospital with the assistance of Lae Police.
Youths residing near the park are now calling on the Morobe Provincial Disaster Office and Lae District to engage them in drills so they can help supervise the park.
