On this episode of Business PNG we take a look at East Sepik province, where the Prime Minister, several ministers and heads of institutions arrived to launch the Sepik Chicken Grain and Cocoa Innovation Project. The project is championed by Minister for Trade, Commerce and Industry, Richard Maru, in his respective district – Yangoru Saussia.
The Sepik Chicken Grain and Cocoa Innovation Project is a K100 million investment; the majority owned by Kumul Holdings, and is to be managed by innovative agriculture holdings.
The project is intended to produce eggs and poultry for the local market and stockfeed from locally grown materials, and will include a 5,000 hectare cocoa plantation.
Business PNG also caught up with Ilan Weiss – Chairman and Director for Innovative Agro Industry Ltd, who spoke about the technicality and macroeconomics aspect of the project.

She speaks to Business PNG about the demand of funeral services in the country, how thousands of kina is spent on flying the deceased to Port Moresby and Lae for these services.
She shares her vision to expand the small shop to a fully-fledged funeral home that will cater to Madang, East and West Sepik (Sandaun).
