Black Orchids Remain Confident

by Lorraine Genia – EM TV Sport

In the lead up to the 2014 Black Orchid 7s tournament, Coach Kelly Havara has confirmed the Pacific MMII Rebels as the island’s biggest threat.

With the National Provincial Championships, Kramer Ausenco Brothers 7s and Kimbe 7s cups under their belt and with the supremacies of Henry Liliket, Albert Levi and Wesly Vali, the Kimbe Rebels are an understandable threat.

Whether or not they are beatable is up to coach Havera and team. Awaiting the release of Pukpuk Sevens star Captain Hubert Tseraha, Havara’s team consists of some of Buka’s best rugby players.

Captained by Nathan Baramun, Albert Havara and Richard Mongi are notable selections in the team.

With their undefeatable performance at the Malagan 7s held last month in Kavieng, the boys will not go down without a fight, and will use this as an opportunity to restore rugby in the islands.

The Black Orchids team:

Nathan Baramun (Captain)

Jimmy Pahia

Sam Afaisa

Tsitom Semoso

Eric Kaiat

Virgil Baroho

Basil Tsikoa

Ryan Syron

Albert Havara

Richard Mongi

Lasin Clansy
