Local Milne Bay Community can now access Health Services

Access to basic health services for the Bubuleta community in Milne Bay province is now possible with the recent launch of the Bubuleta Community Health Post.

This comes as the health department has accomplished the facility through their developing partners DFAT, ADB, JICA, OFID, WHO and UNICEF at a cost close to K5 million.

This is the first community health post to be completed employing the National Health Services Standards in the country.

The health facility will provide for basic health needs of the people of Bubuleta and neighbouring communities with services such as supervised labour, immunisation and treatment of emergency conditions

Part of its service is health promotion and education activities for schools and communities in the area.

The health department says this type of facility is also being constructed in other parts of Milne Bay province and these will be launched later this year.
