Nambawan Super Limited’s New Office

The soon to be opened Nambawan Super Limited (NSL) office building in Port Moresby was blessed by Catholic Bishops Conference (CBC) General Secretary, Fr Victor Roche, in a recent event.

The office is another milestone achievement of NSL over the years, which is part of the organisation’s focus towards capacity building.

Fr Roche blessed the building with a liturgy mass and said Nambawan Super Limited has created an avenue for the people so they can save for the future.

“I have 30 members in the CBC to give the idea to save for the future,” he says.

NSL is the largest corporate trustee and kina investment that provides superannuation services through members’ contributions and savings.

Meanwhile, it has 160, 000 members and asset worth K5.2 billion.

Speaking during the event NSL Board Chairman, Anthony Smare, said it’s easy to go into the new office and lose sight of what brought them there and what they need to do to bring the organisation forward.

“It is important to take a couple of seconds to reflect on the journey that brings them there,” he says.

He said looking around the office and seeing people should reflect on what it had taken to bring them there. For Smare, he says it started in 2012 when he joined the organisation, and it was in a mess.

“We have huge accountability issues, issues with how they are engaging with our members, how investments are being run and how bad our buildings are run,” he continues.

He said for those present they had to buy in a new way of doing things and put in a lot of expectations of this organisation behind and be an asset to excel.
