The Attorney General has urged affluent Papua New Guineas to write wills to avoid complication inthe end.
It’says beneficiaries need to be spelled out clearly in wills for their estates.
Justice Minister, Kerenga Kua saidthe Public Curator and Official Trustee’s Office Attorney often faces complications when wills are absent.
Minister Kua saidthe office ofthe public curator is always criticised overthe handling of estates but people must understandthe many complicationsthe office faces. He said this can be avoided by drafting wills in advance.
The matter was brought up when presenting a cheque of K100, 000 tothe State yesterday. Finance Secretary, Steven Gibson receivedthe cheque in Port Moresby.
The money is fromthe Public Curator’s Office as contribution to Consolidated Revenue Fund.
This isthe first payment sincethe offices establishment.
