It was a night to remember for all notable athletes, and those with distinguished services to sports, includingthe media. Special guest was former professional Rugby League player, Nigel Vangana.

CrickePNG’s top batsman Assadollah Vala isthe 2013 SP sports man ofthe year, and sprint queen Toea isthe sports woman ofthe year.
Junior Male and Female athletes ofthe year went to Cecilia Kuman and Fred Oala while club ofthe year went to Trukai Harlequins in rugby union.
Coach ofthe year was John Ovia and Distinguished Services to Sport went to Api Leka, both excelled in cricket.
Recently introduced category, Sport Photo ofthe Year went to The National newspaper photographer Ekar Keapu, try time for kumuls. Few thers were also recognised for their contributions to sports in PNG
Guest Nigel Vangana presentedthe Sport Team ofthe year award tPNG Palais. Vangana encouraged all those awarded onthe night as well as unsung sports champions to be vibrant role models and create legacies for future generations.
NCD Governor Powes Parkop on behalf ofthe Sport and Pacific Games Minister Justin Tkatchenko and Government vowed to show support to sports inthe country.
