PM :Visits once notorious settlement of Morata

Prime Minister Peter O’Neil saysthe partnership of Churches and Government isthe way forward to create better societies.

This was expressed atthe opening ofthe Morata Half Way House and Rehabilitation Centre. The Center is located in Port Moresby’s oldest and once notorious settlement of Morata.

The Centre is run bythe Christian Life Centre who has been reaching out tothe mischievous youths inthe area, since its establishment inthe 1980s.

Last weekthe Center, invitedthe Prime Minister to opentheir renovated buildings; a dormitory each for male and female youths undergoingthe restoration programs, and a classroom for the new bible college.

Despitethe rainthPM :adethe trip tothe settlement. He was impressed withthe work ofthe church in addressing law and order issues inthe community.

The renovation work for the Centre was funded bythe Department of Law and Justice under its Rehabilitation program.

The Prime Minister also pledged K250 000 tothe Center; on top of it Minister for Health and Member for the electorate, Michel Malabag also pledged anther K100 000.
