Gender inequality continues to have many organisations and individuals throughout the world rather concerned.
Most of these organisations and individuals have played key roles in advocating about the issue, and ways to curbing the issue in communities and societies around the world.
To help promote men to advocate on gender inequality from all levels of life, the UN has used its ‘HeForShe’ campaign strategy to promote roles men can play in tackling the issue.
The ‘HeForShe’ movement was launched in 2014 by actor Emma Watson at the UN and has slowly been recognised for its progress and is now reaching out to many other countries.
The UN campaign encourages men to speak up and take responsible actions on the issue to help both men and women.
According to Watson during her speech at the launching, both men and women should feel free to be sensitive because “gender equality is your issue too”.
To be part of the campaign, individuals have signed up to a petition, as a form of dedication to commit oneself to appropriate take action against all different forms of violence and discrimination that many women and girls face in their life.
As an advocating movement for gender inequality, it is made up of active people who work tirelessly to change the circumstance of the issue in their lives, others and the future generation to come.
The campaign engaging men is slowly reaching out and so far has engaged 472,000 men who have signed up since its launching.
