PPL STRENGTHENS WORKPLACE INCLUSION THROUGH GEDSI AND GBV TRAINING

More than 100 team leaders from PNG Power Limited have attended a training on Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) to strengthen ability to address gender bias, identify and respond to GBV, and promote inclusive practices in everyday operations.
According to PPL the sessions saw strong engagement, from male and female team leaders, highlighting a shared commitment to building a respectful and supportive workplace culture.
As part of the initiative, PNG Power also introduced its new GEDSI and GBV Awareness Policy, marking an important milestone in institutionalising inclusive and safe workplace practices.
PNG Power chief executive officer Paul Bayly acknowledged the importance of the initiative.
“This training is an important part of ensuring staff wellbeing is not overlooked. It’s great to see most of our male team leads present and actively participating. I’m thankful to the PNG Power team for recognising the need, and to ESIP for helping us take meaningful steps towards becoming GEDSI-compliant and GBV-safe,” he said.
This initiative is Australia’s continued support to help PNG meet its electrification goals while strengthening PNG Power’s workplace culture and embedding inclusive practices across its operations.
