Family of PNG Student Late Timothy Charles want Justice for their Son

Community leaders and the family of a PNG student who was recently murdered in Philippines, are calling on responsible Papua New Guinean authorities to liaison with the Philippines local police and judiciary, to bring justice for their son.

Late Timothy Charles from Hela Province was in his final year at the University of the Southern Philippines when he was brutally murdered early last month.

Late Timothy Charles from the Komo-Magarima district in Hela Province was accepted in 2013, to study Computer Software Engineering in the University of Southern Philippines in Cebu Philippines.

During his second year of study, he met Rosana Villanueva and on 2016 they had their first daughter, Zamantha Kate Villanueva.

According to his wife, Rosana Villanueva, on Monday, the 8th of October at around 1 am, Charles was brutally murdered in Cebu by Filipino locals after going out with his friends on Sunday night.

Peter Sessie, Late Timothy’s father who is also blind, said the deceased was his only son from his previous marriage; unfortunately both his parents are unemployed and illiterates and they saw there late son, as there only hope.

With the crime committed on Philippine soil, and police reports that Filipino locals were involved in his murder, the judicial jurisdiction  of late Charles’s case lies within the regional trial court in Philippines.

Late Timothy Charles’s family hopes PNG Authorities can assist with the case to bring justice for their son.
