Two women have raised concerns about the kind of language policemen are using whilst conducting their duties.
This includes verbal abuses, which are sexual in nature, and at most times, both threatening, and intimidating.
These concerns come following two separate cases of police brutality which occurred in Port Moresby in the last two weeks.
In the first incident, Mautana resident Maria Kaupa told EMTV News how policemen threatened to sexually abuse women in her community during a confrontation two weeks ago.
In the second, Michelle Turi, a woman who witnessed what she says were drunken policemen badly assaulting her husband at the Waigani Police Station, speaks of how she was told to stop her pleading.
This morning, the Internal Investigation Unit Director Robert Ali, said such behaviours are uncalled for, are not part of RPNGC standing orders.
Ali says such actions can lead to disciplinary charges, and is urging the public, especially women, to report such cases to the directorate.
