The 2nd day of the Pacific Women’s Sport Leadership Program today had participants from across the region engage in discussions and activities on dealing with challenges in their various fields.
The 20 participants from Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, Vanuatu and PNG, all presented ideas and thoughts on where women in the Pacific could be used as catalysts for change in their communities and sport.
The Program is a professional development training body for women in sport from across the Pacific. It has the aim of developing future Pacific female leaders.
With six different sports being represented in the program, facilitator ,Ann Shannon is excited over the opportunity to assist Pacific women grow.
The program, she believes, runs at an opportune time, with the recent FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup and Pacific Games hosting under Papua New Guinea’s belt.
Other participants also expressed the same sentiments.
Another participant is Mehrina Ahmed, who said she was excited to be a part of the program, that she feels will improve her ability to develop herself.
The program will end on Friday.
