Acquittal Requirements Waivered: Marape

The acquittal requirements for new members of parliament have been waivered, Finance Minister, James Marape has confirmed.

Minister Marape said this doesn’t apply for MP’s continuing their terms.

They are still required to submit their outstanding 2016 acquittals.

The Finance Minister made this announcement in Parliament when responding to questions on the District Service Grant.

Sumkar MP, Chris Nangoi asked the Minister responsible why the District Services Grant was not released.

Minister Marape told Parliament he has issued a direction and will meet with Treasury.

Meanwhile, Minister Marape has called on all MP’s continuing their Parliament terms to submit their 2016 DSG acquittals.
