The Member for Yangoru -Saussia District and Minister for Trade Commerce and Industry, Richard Maru, presented a total of K61, 000.00 to the administration of Kaindi Teachers College.
The presentation took place early this week and will go towards subsidising school fees for students from Yangoru-Saussia District.
A total of 61 students from the district who are attending the college received K1000.00 each, under this new Tertiary School Fee Subsidy Scheme.
Minister Maru, when presenting the subsidy funding, highlighted that the new Tertiary School Fee Subsidy Scheme has targeted students whose parents live and reside in the district and in East Sepik Province.
“We are now building new classrooms and teachers houses in all Primary schools in the four LLGs of the District. The only way to achieve good academic results in by engaging highly trained teachers to go and teach in the District,” said Minister Maru.
“With this investment, we hope that a good number of students who will graduate from Kaindi Teachers college will make it back to their villages to impart the knowledge they have gained.
