Website Launched to Keep Samoans in Touch

by Marie Kauna – EMTV Online, Port Moresby

After a considerable time in the planning stages, an official website where a broadcasting company can share its local production with the hundreds and thousands of Samoans living overseas, Samoa Quality Broadcasting Ltd (SQBL), has today launched its official website.

The development of the website now creates an avenue for the broadcasting company to share its production locally and abroad for its people. This provides the opportunity for the company to reach out to its people through providing its local TV programs.

The people of Samoa will now be able to view and subscribe to these programs every day with Talafou, Teuila Festival, Lali and other local programs such as the recently launched Father of the Year Competition.

Managing Director, Galumalemana Faiesea Lei-Sam Matafeo, said “it’s our way of reaching out to our people living in all corners of the globe, and promotes the Samoan culture and language.”

He added that through this “they can continue to keep in touch with what’s happening in Samoa.”

The development of the website was possible through cooperation between SQBL and NETVO and is open for official business operation. The website can be accessed via this address tv1samoa.tv
