Tura Visits Ela Murray International

Tura the Kokomo, visited Ela Murray International School today in

Port Moresby. The visit was part of the Pacific Games Organizing Committee’s awareness campaign, to raise the profile of the Pacific Games for 2014.

The toddlers and kindergarten children of The Ela Murray International School, welcomed Tura the Kokomo, with open arms.

Tura is the official mascot of the Pacific Games, and was at the school to spread the message of friendship, and unity, as the country prepares to host its biggest sporting event since 1991.

While most were excited with the visit, some were a little less animated.

The pre-scholar’s aptly named the kokomo class, presented Tura with drawings and gifts, and posed beside the nest that they had created for him.

Ken Siminji, who is the Executive Manager for marketing and communication, was very enthusiastic about Tura’s visits, and the nationwide campaign that they have.

Since the mascot launch in February, this will be the third visit that Tura has made to NCD schools.
