Tokarara Fellowship Holds Thanksgiving Service

By Lilian Sopera Keneqa – EMTV News, Port Moresby

Over a thousand members of the Tokarara Fellowship in Port Moresby held a Thanksgiving Service last Sunday. The thanksgiving service was significant as funds raised will go towards building a new church.

Various groups presented traditional dances as they brought their offerings to support the construction of the new church building. The current church building has been standing for almost forty years and has been a fortress for prayers for many denominations including the Anglican and the United Church.

The congregation of over 1000 individuals came with their offerings, big or small. Challenged by Evangelist Napoleon Lufia to give to extend God’s kingdom, groups came forward with their offerings. The children’s ministry moved the hearts of many as they sang a song and brought their offerings in the footsteps of their parents to support the rebuilding of the church.

This is the first project giving that the church has initiated. The second project giving will be held in August.
