Telikom’s K400 million Expenditure Plan

By Michelle Amba – EM TV News, Mt. Hagen

Telikom PNG CEO, Michael Donnelly, says that his company will spend big on improving its network and in turn bring its infrastructure to international standards.

Donnelly made these commen’s this afternoon at the opening of the new Datec branch in Mt. Hagen.

The CEO explained that money will be spent to enhance Telikom’s system to meet consumer demands.

Spending areas also cover a new billing system, improving Telikom’s IT system, and staff up-skilling.

A 4G network is expected to be completed by the end of this year with 256 mobile towers in major towns in Papua New Guinea.

He further mentioned that spending for EMTV’s digital platform has already progressed and plans are in store for a new studio.

Donnelly said this is all to ensure that customers have access to better quality internet and a communications network.

Meanwhile, Datec Hagen is the second branch in the Highlands and the fifth in the country. The Hagen branch, for now, will focus on retail.

However, there are plans for corporate customers to expect more in the coming months.
