Team Vanuatu is all set for this year’s Pacific Games that Papua New Guinea is hosting.
This was announced by Vanuatu’s Chef de Mission; Consul Eileen Nganga.
In an exclusive interview, Nganga told EMTV Sports that team Vanuatu is ready for the Pacific Games.
There are 209 athletes and officials are registered and will compete in 13 sporting codes including Para table tennis.
“The contingent will arrive in Port Moresby on a charter, Tuesday 30 of June. The remaining will arrive on the normal commercial flight on Thursday,” Nganga said.
Despite the Cyclone Pam destruction this year, Nganga is confident Vanuatu will collect gold.
The team underwent bonding sessions, to keep the sporting spirting high.
Meanwhile Vanuatu’s advance team is in the country to observe the Pacific Games, in preparation for the 2017 Mini Pacific Games.
The six member advanced team arrived in Papua New Guinea, last week Thursday, on board Air Niugini’s first commercial flight, upon its return from Port Vila.
Air Niugini made its maiden commercial flight last week Wednesday.
