Two teachers of Uganda Elementary school in the Northern Province, were apprehended at the school grounds on Sunday.
A large quantity of cannabis sativa (marijuana), and two live 50 caliber bullets were confiscated during the office search.
Provincial Police Commander, Inspector Jacob Singura, confirmed this yesterday.
The apprehended teachers are Matthew Gade, 36, from Sananda village, and Obri Tupota from Soputa village in the Northern Province. Matthew is still behind bars in the Popondetta Police cell, and Obri has been released on K300 bail.
Provincial Police Commander, Jacob Singura, is appalled at the action of the teachers. He said, teachers are supposed to be role models to their students, and not to be involved in such illegal activities.
Both teachers have been formally charged and are yet to appear for mention before the district court.
PPC Jacob Singura said, the province has generally been quiet, but abuse of homebrew or Eveka as it is known in the province, is still rampant.
The province has also seen a number of road robberies in recent weeks. Police officers in the province are committed to ensuring safety of locals and business houses are safe guarded.
PPC Singura appealed to the community, to work with the police to maintain law and order.
