Swearing In coming Friday

The country will witness the Swearing In of the newly elected members of the 9th Parliament this Friday.

The Speaker of Parliament and the country’s 9th Prime Minister will also be elected on the floor of Parliament.

While Peter O’Neill’s camp in Alotau is growing as members make their way, the PNG Party camp in Kokopo still stands at 11.

Today some more newly elected MPs left Port Moresby to join the team in Alotau which brings the number to more than 80 members.

Upon advice from the Electoral Commission, the Governor General will be inviting the Party with the highest numbers which is obviously O’Neill’s Peoples National Congress Party.

Belden Namah’s group will make a strong opposition if they do not make the numbers to match that of O’Neill’s.

Meanwhile, the governor elect for Northern Province and leader of Peoples Movement for Change Garry Juffa has denied reports about being part of the 3rd Camp in Goroka.
