St Pauls Primary School in Gerehu inthe National Capital launched its first EQUIT Program.
This was a significant occasion for the catholic run school which almost closed down two years ago.
With a new Principal and School Beard in place,they now want to revivethe school.
Students, teachers, and parents bravedthe searing morning heat to welcome guests tothe EQUIT launching.
A project that would improver learning conditions inthe school, which had been affected by law and order problems inthe past.
The EQUIT program was first introduced inthe country in 2003 bythe Japanese Government through JICA, and aims to improverthe quality of classroom learning through television programs.
The current EQUIT program is in its second phase, and St Pauls Primary isthe first school to officially launch this program.
The project will enhance teaching conditions for the school; however, its long term sustainability depends very much onthe support ofthe parents and surrounding community.
