The Department of Implementation and Rural Development has commended the efforts made to bring services to isolated Kambia, in South Waghi electorate of Jiwaka Province.
This was highlighted last Friday during the presentation of the district’s 2014 acquittals.
The presentation was made by South Waghi MP,Komun Joe Koim ,the district administrator and the district treasurer in Port Moresby.
The department’s First Assistant Secretary, Highlands and Southern Division Aihi Vaki said he was impressed with the MP’s persistent efforts in bringing services to the people of Kambia.
The invited officers, from the department, are to visit Kambia in three weeks time, to physically inspect projects in Kambia.
He said the financial report is complimented by a physical report, so it was important for the department to be on the ground to appreciate the projects.
Kambia is very remote, and can only be accessed by road. The member has visited Kambia 8 times and has delivered the impact project for the people of Kambia.
One of the largest projects is the road access, a service which people of Kambia missed out on.
