A fifteen year old boy has become the only male participant to graduate from an SME skills training workshop attended by 119 women.
Allen Maino was encouraged by his aunt, also a participant, to join the group of women.
The participants are now preparing for the Morobe Show to showcase their skills.
These women from the Ahi Local Level Government in Morobe graduated with certificates in seven different skills.
Some of these skills include sewing, jam making and floriculture.
Young Maino says he joined the training because he wanted to change his mindset and do well in life.
Lae District will assist these graduates to make available markets in order to sell the products.
The member for Lae, Loujaya Kouza, says individuals attending training like this can still make a living during the current economic hardship.
These participants are now preparing to showcase their skills during Morobe Show next weekend.
The famous Morobe lady’s blouse called ‘amba seleng’ and ‘amba kuku’ are some of the products that will be sold during the show.
