The people of Lower Wage in the Magarima Electorate, Hela Province, are using the sport of Rugby League as an escape from illegal activities.
In partnership with this initiative, the Trans Wonderland Group of Companies (TWL) has jumped on board as major sponsors.
Managing Director of TWL, Larry Andagali, donated a total of 14 full sets of jerseys to the 14 registered teams in the competition.
Andagali said TWL has a Community Assistance Program it ran and this was just another way the company could give back to the people of Magarima with whom they encounter no problems with along the highway.
He thanked the people of Magarima for contributing to the company’s growth and said the rugby competition was the best way to keep youth away from harmful activities.
The Magarima people are grateful for the sponsorship as the tournament is seen as a means of promoting peace and harmony in the community.
