Schools in Manus Manage Well Through the Dry Spell

Schools in Manus Province are managing well in this dry spell period.

Manus Provincial Education Advisor, Leonard Jonly, said that classes have continued with no major incidents or any casualties reported to the Provincial Education Office.

In an exclusive interview, Mr Jonly told EM TV News, there were no reports of a school being forced to shut down because of the dry spell and drought.

Manus has 224 schools registered under the provincial education office, and all these schools have managed well the situation and are under control.

At this very challenging time, the Manus Provincial Education Office has granted permission, upon schools request for half day classes.

A 20-minute drive from Momote Airport is Naringel Primary School that is also facing the similar problem.

Head Teacher, Maureen Jumogot, told EMTV News, water in tanks have been reserved only for drinking purposes.
