Member for Sohe, Delilah Gore, says she will still implement her District Development Programs.
She says the District Programs are all captured in the Five Year District Development Plans.
Top on the list is the upgrading of various roads including the Restoration of Kira Government Station that has been neglected for over 30 years.
Sohe District is located in the Northern Province.
It comprises four LLG’s; Higaturu, Kira, Kokoda and Tamata Rural.
The district is home to over 65, 000 people, and is still growing.
Member for Sohe, Delilah Gore, says after spending 12 months in her Electorate, she is keen to implement impact projects for her District.
Her priority is to complete new and existing road projects.
Special emphasis will be given to rehabilitate Kira Government Station that has been neglected for the past 38 years.
Seventy tones of project material for the rehabilitation exercise are yet to be delivered on site, and it was only recently that Prime Minister Peter O’Neill intervened to assist with logistics that will see the materials delivered on time.
She has vowed to ensure all projects get delivered on time, and sees her new appointment as the Minister for Higher Education as a challenge to help her perform well in both responsibilities.
