Rugby Star brought home to Wailing Village

Tatana Village came to a standstill this morning following the death of rugby league star, the late Kato Ottio.

His body was brought home where he lives with his mother and siblings, after his passing at 2am at the hospital.

We arrived at Tatana Village before the convoy of the PNG Kumuls team, led by Coach Michael Marum.

They came to show their respect to one of their greats.

The whole village gathered… children, youth sharing their sympathies.

You can almost hear the heartbreak in the throes of their sobbing.

The pain of losing a loved one is unbearable and was heard through their cries.

The body of the late Kato Ottio was then taken to the Funeral Home, escorted by the PNG Kumuls Team.
