Rouna Omani ILG: They were not part of the group that protested

By Patricia Keamo – EMTV News, Port Moresby

PNG Power Limited yesterday reported that at 3:30 am, Sirinumu landowners unlawfully trespassed the Rouna Power stations and shut down operations of PNG Power.

The Sirinumu landowners petitioned a number of claims to the state, but PNG Power is saying that these claims have no relation to the company.

However, yesterday afternoon, the Rouna Omani Incorporated Land Group, who are the legitimate landowners, approached this newsroom and released a statement saying they are not responsible for the protest that happened this morning at the Rouna Power Stations.

The Rouna Omani ILG want to clarify to PNG Power, the National Government and the General Public they were not part of the group that protested and made demands to the government.
