Six Mile – Saraga Road Reopened

The road from Six Mile Roundabout into Saraga has reopened after it was  blocked off by relatives of a suspect of armed robbery who died at the Port Moresby General Hospital today.

After hearing of his passing, relatives of the deceased who claimed the suspect died as a result of police brutality attempted to bring the body of the deceased to the Six Mile Police station.

However police units including Dog Unit, Fox Unit and Six Mile police responded and did not allow protests to take place.

When St John Ambulance went to remove the body between 11am and 2pm today, few gun shots were fired forcing St John to withdraw.

An hour later a convoy of police vehicles drove into Saraga Community to clear the crowd.

Meanwhile police have advised the road is now free to use.
