With a backload of land, resource and social issues relating tothem,the national government is urged to reviewthe mining and land acts to accommodatethe landowners’ demands.

 

They said government’should rther increase royalty and landowner benefits to over 50 percent andthe left over to government and investors.

 

Speaking on behalf of resource owners nationwide, particularly those inthe mining provinces,the men saidthe national government and investors must putthe people’s interest ahead oftheirs and give more percentage tothem.

 

 

 

The O’Neill Dion government now has its eyes on maximizingthe people’s benefits in project sit’s. It has taken over Ok Tedi and has plans tothe same for allthe thers.

 

Onthe Mt. Kare issue,they commendedthe mining minister for fast trackingthe land investigation.
