The Public Servants Netball Competition concluded today with the Grand Final showpiece, as a determined NBC took on hot favorite’s Works Department in the women’s Premier Division.
With matches in six divisions from 5th to premier, played throughout the day, there was plenty of entertainment throughout as each level’s heavyweights battled for top honors.
Transport, NHC and the PNG Sport Federation took line honors as well as NJSS who continued their winning form right to the end.
The big game however was the premier division match-up, as underdogs NBC took on a highly fancied Works Department featuring young PNG Netball representative, Kimberly Alex.
The day however belonged to young Pepe Alex, who showed wonderful anticipation and sharp shooting and who was able to put her team on the front foot on several occasions.
While NBC were able to match goal for goal, Works proved fitter and sharper and were able to gather momentum towards the end and eventually won 26 -24.
