Preserve WWII Relics: Sir Peter Lus

One ofthe fthers’ ofthe constitution Sir Peter Lus says government needs to protect and preserveWorld War two relics throughoutthe country.

Sir Peter isthe founder and treasurer ofthPNG Redress Association, established in year 2000. Bet its work to protect relics has been unsuccessful due to funding problems.

Sir Peter Lus saidthe war relics are important monuments for the country and must be preserved for future generations.

He called on government to assistthe association with seven million kina.

He said reports ofthe Japanese and Australia’s coming intothe country and removingthe relics including skeletons oftheir relatives must be stopped.

The association is planning to travel to Japan this year and discussthe issue of compensation withthe government.
