Asian Development Bank had injected PNG Power Limited with nearly a billion kina to strengthen the expansion of electricity in Papua New Guinea.
This Power Sector Development Project will target five sub-projects within the main power grids of the country’s power utility.
It will upgrade transmission lines and sub-stations in Gazelle, Ramu and Port Moresby.
ABD Pacific Department’s Energy Division believes the project will contribute to the government’s objective of connecting 70 per cent of the population to electricity by 2030.
