Lack of funding continues to delaythe implementation ofthe recommendations made fromthe Commission ofInquiry intothe Rabaul Queen Ship sinking.
And futher investigations and search intothe five missing scientists have also been hindered for the same reason.
The estimated costs for the investigations are about K2 million each.
Thirty-seven recommendations were made fromthe Commission ofInquiry intothe sinking ofthe Rabaul Queen and presented to police in September to act upon.
One recommendation made was to chargethe ship owner Peter Sharp for Criminal Action.
However, Police Commissioner Peter Kulunga said lack of funding wasthe main reason for the delay in implementingthese recommendations.
He says a team is already in place, prepared to implementthe findings.
Chief of Operations, Simon Kauba said he didthe costing and estimatedthe cost for the investigation to be just below K2 million.
He says a separate funding document was also compiled and presented tothe government for the five missing IMR scientists.
The cost for this search is also below K2 million and both are waiting funding fromthe government.
