Anna-Liza started her swimming career in the late 90s where she first competed in the PNG national championships and the regionals, before her first major international competition in 2002.
Right now, she is struggling to decide what career she would like to have in life, but says, her dream job would be to work for the Olympics.
Winning Gold for her country in the 2015 Pacific Games, Anna-Lisa shared the moment with her team mates and supporters who were there to cheer for team PNG.
Winning a total of 6 medals, the success came after she was asked to represent her home, an achievement she’s says she will treasure, for ever.
She admits it was difficult balancing her independent life, having a full time job and training commitments, to get back into the pool after three years of retirement.
Anna-Liza who retired in 2012, and now aged 31, represented PNG in three Pacific Games, in 2003, 2007 and 20011 and the recent 2015 Games on home soil, a commonwealth game, FINA World Championships and her personal best, a life time opportunity she achieved in 2008 Beijing Olympics, among others.
She had also made two semi-finals at the 2010 Delhi Commonwealth Games for 50m Backstroke and 50m Freestyle. She will continue to pursue her dreams to one day find herself working in the Olympics.
