British High Commissioner tPNG, Jackie Berson yesterday presentedthe Olympic gift fromthe London Organizing Committee tothe Papua New GuineaSport Federation & Olympic Committee.
The gift which is one of two hundred and four petals which formedthe Olympic cauldron duringthe XXXth Olympiad. It was presented to President ofthPNGSFOC, Sir John Dawanincura and withnessed bPNG’s London Olympians Ryan Pini, Theresa Tona, and Nelson Stone.
The London 2012 cauldron was central to this and represented every participating nation through a series of handmade copper elements known as ‘petals’, with one created for every country taking part inthe Olympics.
Each ofthe two hundred and four petals representsthe two hundred and four nations that took part.
