PNGDF Soldiers Confrontation with Police Officers Turns Violent

A group of PNGDF soldiers assaulted NCD Metropolitan Superintendent, Ben Turi and other senior police officers in the NCD Command.

The assault was a retaliation by soldiers from the First Royal Pacific Islands Regiment, after one of their members was manhandled by police officers, over his vehicle registration.

The incident occurred just minutes after the New Year, in front of the Boroko Police Station.
