The Papua New GuineaDefence Force will take a tough stand against obesity inthe force. This is to ensure an active and healthy military is available to perform its duties.
Beigadier General Commander Francis Agwi said this duringthe commissioning of sixteen medical officers yesterday.
The commissioning was held atthe Papua New GuineaDefence Force Headquarters Murray Barracks Port Moresby.
These sixteen medical officers, ten females and six males will fillthe gapthere is inthPNGDF medical team.
Dr. Vasiti Kep is one of ten females’ commissioned to Lieutenant and posted as a dental officer to Manus.
WiththPNGDF experiencing lack of specialist certiflied doctorsthey are being urged to work togther as a team.
Commander oPNGDF Beigadier General Francis Agwi told his commissioned officers to upholdtheir integrity while performingtheir duties.
He sain PNG F will not tolerated obesity withinthe force and wants his officers as part oftheir duties to keep a routine check ofthe defence force personals.
