Let us rememberthem, this werethe words of Papua New Guinearsquo;s Governor General Sir Michael Ogio on Remembrance Day

 

The ceremony was held atthe Remembrance Park in Port Moresby.

to THEM WE OWE THEIR SACRIFICE OF OUR FREEDOM, this wasthetheme ofthe 32nd Remembrance Daycelebration.

 

Hundreds gthered from all overthe city to be part oPNG’s history.Including officers froPNG Defence Force, Royal Constabulary and Correctional Service were present to honourthe fallen soldiers.

 

 

“We stand here today to rememberthe sacrifices of this men and our allies so that we can enjoy our freedom today”, says Governor General.
 

The Governor General advocated for school children to learnthe history oPNG and salutethe past.

 

The day’s event included a minute of silentolaying down of writs, and sounding ofthe rouse.

 

The lone survivor ofthe PapuanInfantry Bettalion Retire Sargent Ben Moide was present to withnessthe occasion.
